NHL Awards 2019

For the 3rd consecutive year in row, OrcaVue joined forces with Dempsey Productions to tackle the NHL Awards, with this year’s iteration being held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Utilizing their 360-degree immersive booth, the OrcaVue team captured some absolutely fantastic footage of athletes, hosts, and celebrities.

A few notable mentions were Kenan and Kel (from Nickelodeon’s ‘All That’), Camille Kostek (from the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition), Cheslie Kryst and Catriona Gray (Miss USA and Miss Universe, respectfully), and Thomas Middleditch (who plays Richard Hendricks from HBO’s hit comedy show ‘Silicon Valley’).


With the 360 videos being post processed instantly and on the spot, the 2019 NHL Awards broadcasting crew used the rendered celebrity footage to transition in and out of commercials. With these eye-catching 360 videos being displayed throughout the broadcast, they served to spice up the show even during times that were critical to grab viewers’ attention and keep them tuned in.
