GLAMBOT MOVES CATALOG
Captured in 4K at 120 fps, these demos let you experiment with playback speed and framing—just as you would in an app such as SnapPic. We generally prefer the 1:1 or 4:5 ratios because they leave more room for guests to move about and work better for group shots.
The yellow inset graphic mirrors what the operator sees and highlights where guests should stand. Most moves use the center position, but any spot can be quickly marked with the built-in laser pointer before or during an event.

Glambot | Frequently Asked Questions
How many moves/paths are included with the OrcaVue Glambot?
All OrcaVue Glambots come preinstalled with 32 unique camera paths or moves. Each path can be adjusted to accommodate four different heights and three different speeds (or crowd sizes). Most paths can also be played in the reverse direction; we call this mirroring. All together this adds up to over 700 unique combinations! You should be aware that other companies often count the mirrored move as a separate camera path. If we did that, the OrcaVue Glambot would be advertised as having 56+ paths.
How difficult is it to set up an OrcaVue Glambot?
OrcaVue Glambots can be set up in five minutes or less–no tools required!
Just perform the following steps:
- Move the road case into position
- Tip the road case up onto the robot’s exposed feet
- Remove the clamshell sides
- Adjust the leveling feet
- Connect the robot to AC power using the supplied 12 ft cord
- Connect an iPhone to the USB-C port on the rear of the robot
- Turn on the robot
- Re-home the arm if necessary (about 20 seconds)
- Confirm the setup questions
- Mark the primary standing position with built-in laser
- Start & connect your preferred app on the iPhone and iPad
- Select a move and wait for arm to move to into position
- Press start in the app to begin running the arm and recording!
Are OrcaVue Glambots difficult to operate?
OrcaVue Glambots were designed for simplicity. Operators simply select a “move” from a list pre-programmed paths. Most moves also allow the operator to select the height and the speed of the arm. The operator then chooses a template from the connected app and presses start. The arm will begin to move and the camera will begin recording. When complete, the footage is downloaded from the camera, rendered, and made available for sharing. In the meantime, the arm will slowly raise and then return to its home position.
What happens if the arm is bumped out of place?
The OrcaVue Glambot arm is designed to “give” if it encounters an obstruction. Often it can simply readjust after such an encounter. But in the case that it needs to be “re-homed,” simply place the arm into glide mode by pressing the red switch at top of arm for half a second. A buzzer will sound and the LED light will blink several times to indicate that the arm is about to go limp. When it does, simply push the arm back into the storage bracket, watching the LED indicators that illuminate when the arm is completely reseated. When they are green, press the red button again. The arm will re-energize and is ready to return to operation. This process usually takes about 20 seconds.
What cameras can be used with the OrcaVue Glambot?
The OrcaVue Glambot is designed to work with a GoPro 12 or 13. While this may seem surprising, GoPros with the right settings and lots of light can produce excellent 4K footage at 120 fps. Instructions for these settings are included as part of the user interface.
Will it work with mirrorless/DSLR cameras?
We’ve found that mirrorless cameras struggle to maintain focus when moving at the rate the OrcaVue Glambot arm travels. When looking at at footage shot while moving this quickly, the focus will sometimes drop out briefly; this is particularly prevalent when shooting with a wide depth of field (which is a primary reason reason for using these cameras in the first place). More concerning is that these lapses in focus become more pronounced when the footage is slowed down as is often the case for Glambot shots.
The other reality is that in order for videos to be shared efficiently on social media, they will almost always be compressed to under 20MB with a max height resolution of around 1200 pixels. After that step, the difference in output quality between a high-end DSLR and a GoPro shooting at 4K 120fps is negligible for most consumers.
Therefore, we thought the GoPro was a good tradeoff.
That said, if we find a mirrorless camera with lightning-quick focus at a reasonable price point, we would consider redesigning the arm to run with it.
What should photo booth operators charge for activation services?
Different regional markets will have fluctuating demand and supply. Therefore, you’ll need to test the pricing in your market to find the optimum level. We’d recommend experimenting with $2-4,000 for 3 hours at private events and $3-6,000 for corporate events or brand activations.
What photo booth apps can be used with the OrcaVue Glambot?
In theory, any app that can control one of our 360 platforms via the Bluetooth interface can also control the Glambot.
The reality, however, is that to be efficient, the app needs a means of letting the operator select different templates to match the recording times. At the moment, SnapPic and Curator can do this and interface seamlessly with the Glambot.
Recently we added an updated version of our protocol to the Glambot. It allows even more control over template selection. Curator has added this capability; we expect that SnapPic will do so shortly.
